The athenahealth advantage
At athenahealth, we partner with you, coaching you every step of the way to attest to Meaningful Use. As part of our partnership, we align our incentives with yours — we only succeed when you do. And to drive that success, our network-enabled EHR, rated #1 by KLAS for practices with 11-75 physicians6, makes it easy to achieve Meaningful Use.
You get everything you need to achieve Meaningful Use — at no extra cost
Our EHR reduces distractions from the patient visit, featuring a smart workflow that works the way providers think, and surfacing important Meaningful Use measures where they’re most easily met. Through our network, we track our clients’ performance and make adjustments to our interface so you can meet each measure as easily as possible, without compromising the patient encounter. If you’re not performing well on a particular measure, we’ll replace it with one you’re scoring higher on and even attest on your behalf— it’s part of our process in coaching you on Meaningful Use best practices.

An EHR designed for optimal ease-of-use
We build quality guidelines and measures into our EHR where they’re least obtrusive -- and 97.6% of providers on our EHR successfully attested to Meaningful Use in 2015.
An ONC Certified EHR to help achieve Meaningful Useathenahealth’s EHR, athenaClinicals, has been successfully tested and certified in the ONC Health IT Certification program. As required for attestation, athenahealth includes the CMS EHR Certification ID for the version of athenaClinicals that contains the end date of the provider’s reporting period. Specifically, athenahealth uses the EHR Certification ID found under Certified 2014 Edition option on the Certified Health IT Product List (CHPL) website. For more details on athenahealth’s certification, please see the appropriate document below.
Additional regulatory demands on physicians
If your practice bills Medicare, Meaningful Use isn’t your only quality program concern. You’ll also need to meet Physician Reimbursement System (PQRS) measure. Failing to satisfy Meaningful Use and PQRS requirements in 2016 could result in a 10% penalty of your 2017 Medicare reimbursement. We’re helping practices prepare by guaranteeing PQRS compliance.
