Forbes' Best Mid-Sized Employer

Ranked #104 out of 500, we are proud to earn a spot on this year’s Forbes’ “Best Mid-Sized Employer” list. To determine the list, Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to administer a questionnaire through an independent, third party, survey organization – for an objective, annual ranking of America’s best employers.

Energage’s U.S. Top Workplaces program

Of 1,100 participating companies, we are thrilled to be named one of Energage’s 2021 U.S. Top Workplaces! And, even amid the pandemic where communications and product innovation were difficult in a remote work environment, we are grateful to earn two Cultural Excellence awards in Communication and Innovation, in addition to an honor as a Top Workplace USA in the Healthcare Industry.

These results are based on feedback from our local Boston, Austin, and Atlanta employees, through Energage, an objective employee survey company that helps organizations make a valuable impact on workplace culture. Results were calculated by comparing survey results to the survey’s research-based statements, including 15 culture drivers that most predictably lead to engagement for today’s workforce. Higher scores indicate a healthy organization and engaged employees.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution Top Workplaces

In March 2021, athenahealth was also named a Top Workplace 2021 by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. This list is developed based on employee feedback fathered by Energage, which measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection.

This recognition comes on the heels of our Boston Globe and Austin American-Statesman award wins in late 2020.

Built In

Recently, athenahealth earned two “Best Places to Work” awards from Built In. We placed on Built In’s Best Places to Work in Austin and Best Large Companies to Work for lists, for the second year in a row. For these awards, Built In hand-picked the best tech-driven enterprise employers that offer stellar benefits as well as best-in-class salaries to their workforce.

Great Place to Work® Certification™

Finally, for the second consecutive year, we are honored to receive U.S. and India certification from the international Great Place to Work® organization. Great Place to Work independently monitors and evaluates company culture and employee sentiment across a variety of indicators. Overall, 90% of athenistas rated athenahealth a great place to work, and 85% of responses were positive across all divisions and locations. This year, athenahealth saw an exciting 6% increase in overall positive employee sentiment – year over year – and we showed positive gains in each of the 25 focus areas GPTW tracks, with double digit improvement in: Integrity, Equity, Collaboration, Impartiality.
