Michael joined athenahealth’s leadership team as the Chief Strategy and Corporate Development Officer in January 2025. In this role, he oversees partnerships, the athenahealth Marketplace, corporate development, and corporate strategy teams. Since joining athenahealth in 2012, Michael has held various positions in product, strategy, and business development, most recently serving as the Vice President of Platform and Data Services. Throughout his tenure at athena, he has played a pivotal role in launching several new business initiatives, including athenaPayer and athena Platform Services.

Before joining athenahealth, Michael began his career in the Strategy and Technology practices at Deloitte Consulting, where he focused on healthcare and health IT, serving both public sector and commercial clients. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and currently serves on the board of directors for the CommonWell Health Alliance.
