Through our network, all our clients are continually connected to a proprietary database of insurance rules. This allows us to manage a vast array of medical billing and clinical rules, pay-for-performance and formulary requirements, drug interaction guidelines, and government regulations, and inject them into the workflow of all our clients as they become relevant. No software updates are needed. And we’re not the only ones on your side. When claims are denied within our client base, the necessary fix is made, and the learning from that fix is automatically delivered to athenahealth clients nationwide. This means problems get solved before they reach your practice, streamlining workflow and enhancing profit. And we even help analyze which insurance companies are paying your full contracted amount on claims – data you can use to make sure you’re getting paid accurately.

In addition to our web-based software and rules database, we also provide back-office services. Simply put, we take on your most time-consuming tasks. All your faxes, billing and clinical paperwork gets sent to us and we scan, prioritize and post it for you. Lab orders are handled electronically and we track and manage all of your claims and denials. We also periodically assess your practice’s performance and suggest improvements. Finally, our Clinical Intelligence Team will keep you on top of emerging Pay for Performance mandates and help you navigate - and even benefit from - other new rules, acts and regulations.
