“We had tried several software-based EMR and practice management solutions over the past few years, but athenahealth’s services took a completely different approach to supporting our existing clinical workflows and will now make the EMR process flexible and economically sustainable for the practice.”

Letter from Jonathan
Wish you could enjoy your summer vacation without worrying about chaos back at the office? This month, we highlight a variety of ways athenahealth works to make our clients more efficient and streamlined. Are you familiar with NPI? NPI was a huge undertaking for physicians, forcing them to switch from using their old legacy provider numbers to their new National Provider Identifier (NPI) number when submitting claims. Because of the complex back-end work involved with setting up NPI’s with each payer, athenahealth created a dedicated team to focus on preparing clients and athenaNet® for the change. Last month’s Rule of the Month describes athenahealth’s Rules Engine role in helping clients with the intricacy of the new NPI numbers.
NPI is only one example of how athenahealth works to enable efficiency and success for our clients. Continue reading this issue of the athenaPulse to discover more ways athenahealth is dedicated to our clients’ success.
