“Within a short while, athenahealth converted all of our data into its system, trained our staff, updated our physician profiles with insurance carriers and had us up and running. Our office hardly skipped a beat.”

Letter from Jonathan
Happy New Year and welcome to 2008! athenahealth experienced an exciting 2007 with plenty of big news and amazing growth! In this issue, we reflect on the progress our posting department made in 2007. We’re very excited to see such great achievements including an increase in processing Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) from 28% in 2006 to 44% in 2007. Along with increasing ERA, we’ve seen a higher unpostable resolution rate, faster posting and higher client satisfaction! Also, our rules experts have been working hard to make submitting insurance claims easier and virtually hassle free. Find out how our rules engine calculates age based procedure codes to ensure claims are submitted correctly the first time around. Ann and Natalie are back to discuss the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s report on the nations’ healthcare status and availability. Finally, meet this month’s featured athenista, Meryl Grant, Posting Escalation Supervisor.
