She's queen of the ice hockey rink and the Western Client Service Manager. Meet Kim Williams, this month's featured athenista.
athenaPulse: How many clients do you work with and where are they located? Kim Williams: There are about 68 clients in the West and I am the primary contact for about 38 of those clients.
AP: How often do you talk with clients? KW: It depends on how new they are to athena. The scheduled calls can be weekly, monthly or quarterly. Although the non-scheduled calls can be daily if there is an issue we are working on - it all is pending the client's needs.
AP: Why do you enjoy working with your clients? KW: I enjoy working with my clients because they are wonderful people who care about their work – and I care about them. I enjoy making a difference by training them on a specific process or functionality, showing them a better way to review their month-end, and by being their voice at athenahealth. Our clients continue to make athena better, while we improve their practices.
AP: What do all your clients know about you? KW: Most clients know that I play ice hockey. Most of them are in Texas or California, and are always amazed. But I'm always amazed when they are roping calves in the rodeos!
AP: Describe something from a past life that none of us know about. KW: Many people know I have lived in Vermont and worked in a hospital, but not many people know I was in retail for 5 years and a Clothing Manager for a ski store in Burlington, Vermont. I first become interested in the health care industry because of the good care I got after a sports injury. I have been in health care for over ten years, with three of them at athenahealth.
AP: What annoys you at work? KW: When we are out of milk - I live by the stuff.
AP: What do you want to do next, after athena? KW: Not sure - I have not really thought of an "after athena." I love it here and am still growing and learning every day.
