Meaningful Use Dashboard Update: The First for 2012
This week we’ll hold off on the commentary of previous posts and just put out the new numbers from the Meaningful Use Dashboard. We hope everyone enjoyed the holidays and got some time off to spend with friends and family. Now get back to work and back on the path to Meaningful Use!
- Our attestation rate has improved 4 points to 81%
- 13.1% of our Medicare MU providers have satisfied all but 2 core measures, a 4 point decrease (which is a good thing)
- 98.1% of our Medicare MU providers have satisfied 5 of 10 menu measures, a 0.2 point improvement
- 96.1% of our Medicare MU providers have satisfied the Clinical Summary measure, a 0.9 point improvement
So, the numbers are steadily rising. We’ll have a few more Meaningful Use Dashboard updates leading up to the final attestation deadline of February 29, 2012. Then, we all wait for CMS to release its 2011 MU data.
Until then, what has been your experience using an EMR–or EMR service–on the path to Meaningful Use?
My physician husband has never worked longer hours in his life. He is working until midnight every night charting electronically. Athena could be more user friendly and less redundant. It should be customized during the implementation phase, not while the doctor is trying to learn how to use it on the job.

I’m sorry to hear this! I agree with you that athenaNet needs to increase its usability. We’re working on radically streamlining the user experience for physicians. But this won’t happen overnight and that’s gotta be very cold comfort to anyone who’s repeatedly working, well, overnight. In the meantime, we want to help your husband and others who use athenaNet more effectively today, as it exists today. That’s what athenaCare is all about– “…driving provider productivity and cliinical effectiveness…”
The account manager for your husband’s practice can put you in touch with athenaCare.
Thank you for reading the blog and sending your comment–
