The majority of physicians surveyed believe an EHR improves access to clinical data and collections.

Physicians were asked whether they believed an EHR provides particular benefits: Of the seven potential benefits, the highest level of agreement was that EHRs improve access to clinical data, with 81% of physicians expressing that opinion.
On the other end of the opinion spectrum, only 26% of respondents agreed that an EHR reduces costs.
Most telling, perhaps, is that in 2012, six of the seven benefit statements on the list had a smaller percentage of physicians agreeing than in 2011. Last year, nearly 80% of respondents believed that an EHR improved bill collections; in 2012, that percentage dropped to less than two-thirds (63%).
